At the heart of this fourth-generation dairy farm is Sheena Brown, who followed her dream to revive this hilltop farm in Derby.

Sheena Brown, a fourth-generation dairy farmer in Derby, revived her family’s farm, Skyline Holsteins, 11 years ago after the cows were sold when she was a teen.

Sheena and her partner, Ben, are now transitioning the farm to organic, hoping this will create a more sustainable future for the next generation.

🌸 Eshqua Bog Natural Area in Hartland is putting on a show.

☀️ Every year in mid-June, showy lady’s slipper orchids bloom, turning this natural area into a botanical sweet spot.

🌺The orchids are typically white with a bright pink or magenta slipper or pouch, and two white petals above, giving them a delicate yet “showy” appearance.

🌳Eshqua Bog has been preserved for nearly 40 years thanks to a group of locals who dedicated themselves to protecting the area.

🌸 In the late 1980s, Eshqua Bog’s future was far from secure. It had been privately owned for years and enjoyed by the community. Then it was sold to a developer, and residents feared that Eshqua would be lost forever.
