Bennington Battle Day Weekend

Bennington Battle Day Weekend features variety of events that bring Revolutionary War history to life and celebrate the local community.
On Saturday, there’s a 5K and kids’ fun run at the Bennington Battle Monument starting at 8:30 a.m.; Kids Day at the Vermont Veterans Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; guided battlefield tours across the state line in New York throughout the day; an encampment with reenactors, cannon and musket demonstrations at the monument.
Moodus Drum & Fife performances start at noon; a USS Bennington Memorial Service is from noon to 1 p.m.; a downtown Food Truck Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and an America 250 concert by Sage City Symphony and Music Company Orchestra at 6 p.m
On Sunday, the official Bennington Battle Day begins with a 10 a.m. anniversary service at Old First Congregational Church. Reenactors continue at the Bennington Battle Monument from 10 a.m. to noon.
Don’t miss the Battle Day Parade through downtown Bennington starting at 12:30 p.m.
At 6 p.m., the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site hosts a 249th-anniversary commemoration, including historical accounts, a wreath-laying and artillery salute.
