Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah Performs in Brattleboro
October 11, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Vermont Jazz Center welcomes back Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott), a two-time Edison Award winner and six-time Grammy nominee.
Adjuah is one of the most forward-thinking voices in contemporary music. Widely celebrated as the creator of Stretch Music—a style that transcends genre boundaries—he blends elements of jazz, hip-hop, rock, African rhythms, and electronic sounds into a powerful experience.
NPR has hailed him as “ushering in a new era of jazz,” and JazzTimes has called him “the architect of a commercially viable fusion.” Adjuah is also Chieftain of the Xodokan Nation and the current Grand Griot of New Orleans, carrying forward his family’s legacy of cultural leadership and innovation.
Tickets are $25+ general admission (contact the VJC for educational discounts). Purchase tickets at www.vtjazz.org or call 802-254-9088 ext. 1.
