First Day Hike at Owl’s Head in Groton

Explore Owl’s Head during a moderate, roundtrip hike that is geared toward families with young children. This hike is part of Vermont State Parks First Day Hike event.

The hour-plus hike includes the road to the shelter, which is three-quarters of a mile with 350-foot of elevation gain. From there, you’ll take the trail to the top of the mountain, which is 1,500 feet with 100 feet of elevation gain.

The view at the top of Owl’s Head make it a rewarding trek.

Meet at 1 p.m. on Route 232 at the gated area near Lanesboro Road in Groton.
