Marble Mansion Holiday Tour in Fair Haven
December 13, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Marble Mansion of Fair Haven, one of Vermont’s historic treasures, will open its doors to the public for free, self-guided tours.
Prominent among Vermont homes selected for the National Registry of Historic Places, the famous Marble Mansion of Fair Haven showcases a bygone era lavishly furnished for the holidays.
Built in 1867 for the Hon. Ira C. Allen, a distant relative of Revolutionary War hero Ethan Allen, the mansion is a rare and beautiful example of an exceptionally preserved 1867 house designed for one of the town’s most successful business leaders.
State Senator Allen was a magnate in banking and railroads, who was instrumental in fostering the development of the marble and slate industries in Fair Haven. His home remained in the Allen family for more than a century until 1975.
Sparing no expense, the Parkes have accurately and lovingly restored the Allen family’s 22 room, 6,400 square foot French Second Empire mansion to its original grandeur.
