Spice on Snow Music Festival in Montpelier

The popular Spice on Snow Music Festival returns to Montpelier after a five-year hiatus.
The three-day celebration of roots and folk music features outstanding nationally known Cajun and Old-Time musicians, concerts, dances, workshops, family events, jam sessions and performances citywide – an early Mardi Gras celebration.
Kick off the festival on Friday with the event’s headliner band, Rose and the Bros at Capital Plaza, and music throughout downtown Montpelier. 7-9 p.m. Tickets $15.
On Saturday and Sunday, enjoy music and workshops around town, including:
~Cajun & Old Time Music Workshops – old time fiddle, old time banjo, double Cajun fiddle and Cajun/Zydeco Rhythms, and dance workshops at Monteverdi Music School
~All around downtown, listen to local musicians play acoustic tunes – family friendly. Free or by donation.
~Late night Cajun music from Pointe Noir at Bent Nails Bistro – 8-11 p.m., donation at the door
~Saturday’s Headliner is Richie and Rosie, led by Rosie Newton and Richie Stearns, performing music rooted in the Americana tradition. Lost Nation Theatre. 7-9 p.m. Tickets $20.
~On Sunday, a MLK Jr. Commemorative Concert with the Montpelier Community Gospel Project, Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, and Shidaa Projects at City Hall Arts Center from 4-6 p.m. Tickets $20.
