The Taste of Montpelier Food Festival, presented by Hunger Mountain Co-op, returns for its fourth year. The event features food producers, vendors and artisans, chili tent, cocktail gardens and more.
The festival’s main event starts on Friday, September 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Barr Hill with a pre-party to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with live music, hispanic foods, salsa dancing and more! (located at the distillery at 116 Gin Lane).
Taste’s main event is from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 is held on Langdon Street and State Street from Main to Elm.
Three Penny Taproom and Barr Hill host a Langdon Street Beer and Cocktail garden which opens at noon The festival features over 20 specialty food producers, artisans and non-profit booths. Starting at 9 am on Saturday at the Montpelier Farmers Market Jessee Lawyer of Vermont Wild Kitchen will lead an Abenaki Cooking Demo. Wilaiwan’s hosts a demo at 2:45 with a classic Thai street dish, and at 4:00 pm, Barr Hill leads a demonstration of their house made tonic syrup at the Langdon Street Beer and Cocktail Garden.
The festival also features world-renowned street circus arts performers, including; Colin Campbell, Wiley & Woodhead, Hilby, The Skinny German Juggling boy, and Alakazam, The Human Knott.
New to the festival is a Chill Tent, managed by All Brains Belong Chill Tent, in a quiet area located at the Christ Church Courtyard for festival goers who need a break from the activity.
Montpelier Alive is hosting a raffle to win a gift certificate to a local restaurant or a pair of downhill skis! Pick up a Taste Passport and get it stamped from five different downtown eateries from Friday, September 13 through Sunday, Sept. 15 to win! Drop off your completed Passport at City Hall by Monday, September 23 to be entered to win!
