The Bennington Old First Church and Cemetery, Part II
August 02, 2010
Dave and I were in Bennington over the weekend and stopped by The Bennington Old First Church and cemetery where Robert Frost is buried. I was traveling solo last week when I visited the church and knew it was a place Dave would also love to explore.
When we arrived on Saturday, Dave not only appreciated seeing Frost’s grave but also the old headstones dating back to the Revolutionary War. We also toured the inside of The Old First Church and learned that the only cross you’ll find is on the ceiling (the photo of the chandelier gives you a partial view of the cross).
I took quite a few photos of the church and cemetery during my second visit. But for some reason, I still couldn’t bring myself to photograph Frost’s grave.

Oh, how wonderful! I must go there! I adore old graveyards and I adore Robert Frost.

Hi Alyson – I was thinking of your beautiful fall graveyard photos when I was visiting this cemetery. You would love this place. Hope you are doing well!
